作者简介冯达·N.麦金泰尔（Vonda N. McIntyre）
美国著名的科幻、奇幻小说作家。1948年生于路易斯维尔，1970年获得华盛顿大学生物学荣誉学士学位，1971年开始发表作品。
其作品五次登上《纽约时报》畅销书排行榜。1973年其中篇小说《雾草沙》获得星云奖，1978年根据《雾草沙》扩展而成的长篇小说《梦蛇》获得星云奖和雨果奖，1997年《太阳王与海妖》力压乔治•R.R.马丁《权力的游戏》获星云奖。此外，她还写过一些《星际迷航》和《星球大战》的小说。目前居住在西雅图。
