First ever book written on Practice of Management, this treatise is also about foreign policy, administration, economic reforms, policies and war.Quote :Whoever imposes severe punishment becomes repulsive to the people; while he who awards mild punishment becomes contemptible. But whoever imposes punishment as deserved becomes respectable. For punishment when awarded with due consideration, makes the people devoted to righteousness and to works productive of wealth and enjoyment; while punishment, when ill-awarded under the influence of greed and anger or owing to ignorance, excites fury even among hermits and ascetics dwelling in forests, not to speak of householders.

作者简介

憍底利耶,印度孔雀王朝（前324—前187）开国元勋。

朱成明，湖南常德人，2007年毕业于吉林大学外国语学院英语系，2008年进入北京大学南亚学系（当时东语系）学习印度古代语言，并于2011年于2016年分获北京大学文学硕士、博士学位。主要研究兴趣是法论、利论、史诗等文献中的印度古代政治秩序问题，同时涉及印度哲学、沃格林意识哲学。译者熟练掌握多门语言，英语、德语、西班牙语、巴利文、梵文都有很好的基础。
