作者简介泰德·威廉姆斯，美国著名幻想大师，1957年3月14日生于加利福尼亚州。
他偏好奇幻与科幻写作，因为这两种体裁能自由地讲述许许多多各种各样的故事。
威廉姆斯是托尔金的书迷与继承者，其代表作《回忆、悲伤与荆棘》三部曲正是受《魔戒》启发而来。
而他更是乔治·马丁的启发者。马丁承认，正是读了威廉姆斯的书，他才顿悟奇幻文学“竟有这么多可能性”，并将创作重心转移到挖坑不填上。
