作者简介苏珊娜•塔玛罗，1957年出生于意大利的里雅斯特，后在罗马生活。1989的发表处女作《云中漫步》。1991年出版短篇小说集《孤独的声音》，该书在欧洲被译成多种文字。1992年开始创作童话，出版了《害怕读书的孩子》等童话。1994年问世的成名作《心指引的地方》于1995年被搬上银幕，1995年还出版了青少年读物《魔圈》。1997年小说《心灵的世界》、书信体散文《亲爱的马蒂尔达》相继问世。1998年发表作品《天使和托比》。1999出版《回家》。2001年中篇小说集《回答我》问世。
