宇文所安 Stephen Owen (1946 - )，生于美国密苏里州圣路易斯市，美国著名汉学家。他从小就对诗歌感兴趣，在巴尔的摩市立图书馆，宇文所安第一次接触到中国诗歌，并迅速与其相恋，至今犹然。1972年，宇文所安获得耶鲁大学东亚系博士学位，随即执教耶鲁大学。他的作品翻译介绍到中国来的有：《初唐诗》、《盛唐诗》、《中国“中世纪”的终结 中唐文学文化论集》《晚唐诗 827-860》《追忆中国古典文学中的往事再现》、《迷楼 诗与欲望的迷宫》，以及最近的《中国文论》和《他山的石头记》等。
