Completed shortly before Donald Davidson's death at 86, "Truth and Predication" brings full circle a journey moving from the insights of Plato and Aristotle to the problems of contemporary philosophy. In particular, Davidson, countering many of his contemporaries, argues that the concept of truth is not ambiguous, and that we need an effective theory of truth in order to live well.
作者简介唐纳德·戴维森（Donald Davidson，1917-2003），20世纪下半叶最重要的分析哲学家之一，实在论的代表。曾先后任教于美国斯坦福大学、普林斯顿大学、芝加哥大学和加州大学伯克利分校。戴维森的思想，体现在自20世纪60年代以来发表的一系列论文中，主要集中于心灵哲学、语言哲学、形而上学和认识论，同时对伦理学以及美国实用主义的复兴也产生了重要影响。
