伊恩·詹姆斯现任剑桥大学法语系准教授兼系主任，曾任剑桥大学法语系讲师与唐宁学院研究员，研究领域为现代法国哲学与文学，曾出版过《皮埃尔·克罗索夫斯基：一个名字之持存》（Pierre Klossowski: The Persistence of a Name，2000）、《不完整的要求 ：让-吕克·南希哲学导论》（The Fragmentary Demand: An Introduction to the Philosophy of Jean-Luc Nancy，2006）。
