陳恆昭先生，現任日本青山學院大學教授、東京大學名譽教授，臺灣大學法律學系1966年畢業。在哈佛大學獲得哲學及法學雙料博士。研究比較法相當出色。在英國與日本建立的聲譽與學術人脈，表現極為傑出。在東京大學法學院擔任教職超過20年。是學術競爭激烈的東大法學院唯一的一位華人教授。英美都有出版專書，如Chinese Legal Tradition under Mongols及Formation of Early Meiji Legal Order。在日本與英國高等研究學術圈，有其極為廣泛的學術人脈。在其任教於東大期間，同時也擔任該校校長的特別顧問，協助該校成功的建立與英國著名大學（牛津、劍橋）的緊密學術關係。
